| Appleton Wiske Much fun was had in the village of Appleton Wiske at the excellent ladies night Christmass fair. A friend of Truffles, Lena, invited us to showcase Truffles. Well worth the journey for Lena's good company, let alone the sales and the jolly atmosphere. We managed to pick up a couple of Christmass presents ourselves as well!

| Slow Food Truffles were very pleased to be invited to take part in the latest Slow Food event in the county last Sunday at Nicolforest. The Fast Food movement is growing all over the world in areas were people care about the food that they eat and is encouraging local traditional producers and new ones who make quality food, and also to encourage local people to eat it. It was a movement started in Italy by a man unhappy at the fact that his country with all its rich tradition of wonderful foods were still being influenced by fast food outlets and big supermarkets.
Everyone enjoyed the lunch created by a talented team fronted by Annette Gibbons, and before, during and after the meal people were encouraged to wander round talking to the producers and trying samples of the foods they had brought with them.
